Prime Video Backs Eternal Sunshine Productions’ Coming-of-Age Rom-Com Don’t Be Shy

Prime Video has announced a new Original film collaboration with Eternal Sunshine Productions for Don’t Be Shy, a coming-of-age romantic comedy written and directed by Sreeti Mukerji.

Produced by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt under the Eternal Sunshine Productions banner, and co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani, the film centres on Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old navigating friendship, love and self-discovery when her carefully planned life takes an unexpected turn.

The project marks a significant partnership between Prime Video and Eternal Sunshine Productions, reinforcing the streamer’s focus on young-adult, female-led narratives with strong emotional and cultural resonance. The film also features original music by composer Ram Sampath.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India, said the film combines a fresh, humorous voice with a relatable coming-of-age lens, positioning it to connect with audiences both in India and internationally.

Alia Bhatt, co-founder of Eternal Sunshine Productions, said the story’s sincerity and distinct perspective made it a natural fit for the banner, adding that Prime Video’s support for bold and distinctive storytelling aligned closely with the company’s creative vision.

Don’t Be Shy joins Prime Video’s growing slate of Indian Original films and series aimed at expanding its footprint across genres and demographics.
